Port Jervis - Bruce Porter, owner and President of Porter Investments and Highwood Properties Ltd., has joined the group of Tri-State area residents seeking to Improve Port Jervis' downtown. Porter recently purchased 19 Front Street and will be renovating the upper floors of the building to become upscale apartments.
"I am excited to join in the renaissance taking place in this great town. Port Jervis has a lot of potential and these new projects will be a catalyst to bring more business to the downtown." Porter said of his project.
Porter, after much research on the infrastructure of Port Jervis, consulting with attorneys, banks and Realtors, found the city to be a viable location for the project. "We are simply reviving the use of the infrastructure the downtown already has. With more investment into the downtown, we bring more revenue to town and more jobs and services for the residents.".
The engineering design was developed by Robert E. Curtis of Fellenzer Engineering.
The 1.5 million dollar project is expected to take approximately nine month to complete. Port Java, a coffee shop who is currently the bottom floor tenant of 19 Front Street, will remain in open during the renovations. |
